Helen W. Kang, Ph.D
Degrees: Purdue University - Masters & Ph.D
My family and I moved to the United States when I was 11 years old. We settled in Munster, Indiana. Yes, Indiana! We did not have much money or resources and we were not prepared for all the changes that came with our move. My family thought that I’d adjust the fastest since I was the youngest. However, I still remember being dumbstruck when I found myself waiting for my school bus and trying to find my identity amongst a group of friends that did not look like me.
The best way to learn a new language (especially English) is when you can immersive yourself into the culture and its environment. I have friends and family who are new and experienced moms in both Korea and the United States wanting to do the exact same thing but doesn’t know how or what to do.
JAM is a vision of mine to share my experiences as a child in a new country and new learning environment. My long-term objectives are to help other moms to PREPARE their children by exposing them to new and exciting experiences

Katie
Katie studied Business Management at Purdue University. She partnered with her long time best friend by establishing Flower arrangement and delivery services in United States to Korea during Internet Boom. Katie served as a IT financial advisor and project manager.
After Katie met her husband she relocated back to Korea. She has been working as interpreter and translating books, graduate school theses while raising her daughter. Currently she is working with other moms who are interested in study abroad and assisting with application process.
Katie also volunteers at local public schools and library teaching and reading books for children in English.
JAM Travel Coordinator/Advisor
Kevin
Kevin is a father of two. He also immigrated to the United States when he was 10 years old with his parents. Currently, he works as a project and product manager and took an additional role as a Travel Coordinator and Advisor for JAM. Trust me, it took a lot of convincing for him to join this role as he has been doing travel arrangement as a hobby for his family. Kevin can look and review the travel itinerary and provide you with abundance options for traveling for leisure or for business. Please ask him about his latest travel arrangement for Disneyworld for his friends and family!
